Life All Time
April 08, 2020
Many of us have heard of the "All Time Greats" and the hype around them. And some have even met or have met the legendarily perfect people who have set the bar and forever become the faces and names of perfection. Of course, no one can be perfect, but there are still those who have managed to remain in great physical shape, mentally sharp, and perhaps even rich. A big reason for this is that they have the life skills to make their successes work.
In fact, we should be very careful about the type of life skills that we possess because not all of them will be useful to us. Our ability to think clearly and work well with others, for example, will only be useful if we bring our ideas to the table, be able to delegate the work when needed, and truly appreciate what we have. People who are not self-reliant in these areas will never succeed. Indeed, they will find themselves in the precarious position of being so self-sufficient they do not know where they are going, or even what to do.
We should not forget that the people who make up the All Time Greats of history were not born perfect. Those who are considered "all time greats" had to fight through adversity, learn from their mistakes, and develop strengths in order to reach their success. The importance of learning and improving is obvious and yet often overlooked.
When we live in a society which focuses on "perfection" and never seeks to learn how to improve our lives, we will probably end up stagnating in life and become victims of the "average Joe." This means that we will spend our lives working for someone else, and nothing will ever improve. Worse, many people have been conditioned to believe that there is some barrier between success and failure, so they will never strive to make their lives better.
Not everyone has the same level of success in life, and not everyone can be in the same different categories. To help others avoid the pitfalls of poor social skills, it is best to accept help from those around us, especially those who are successful in their own lives. Life is a living, and it needs to be lived on purpose. We must embrace change, as that is the only way we are able to grow, move forward, and learn.
However, most of the All Time Greats are not afraid to admit that they also have flaws, and in fact some of them have even admitted that they are flawed in one way or another. They acknowledge that they need some help in order to be successful. It is these people who allow others to move past their shortcomings and the perfectionism that comes with them.
By avoiding the perfectionism that comes with it, you are allowing yourself to be able to learn, grow, and accept change. You are also avoiding the "lock your doors" mentality that many people live with, because without it, nothing will ever get done. When you allow others to help you, the benefits are numerous and dramatic.
The All Time Greats is proof that there is something out there for everyone. Of course, you can be perfect, but if you are going to be successful, you have to at least try to live up to the standard that they have set. It is these individuals who have allowed others to follow their path that the rest of us can look to for guidance and inspiration.
